  • Schloss Benrath Light Festival
    30 June 2017
    The Schloss Benrath Lichterfest is Düsseldorf's most popular open-air event. At the Benrather Castle Market, visitors will find classical music at its best, a romantic illuminated castle and breathtaking fireworks.

  • ETU European Triathlon Championships 2017
    24 - 25 June 2017
    With a fantastic backdrop such as the Media Harbor, a high-caliber sporting event is to be expected. This is where the European triathlon elite and the best age-class athletes of the continent determine who will be the European champions.

  • T3 Triathlon Dusseldorf
    25 June 2017
    In the course of the European Triathlon Championships, the popular T3 Triathlon Düsseldorf will again be held on Sunday, 25 June. It will once again be located at the Media Harbor, where around 2,000 elite, age-class and hobby triathletes will swim 750 m (2,460 ft), cycle 19.5 km (12.1 mi) and run 5 km (3.1 mi).

  • Grand Départ der Tour de France
    28 June – 2 July 2017
    The Grand Départ of the most famous cycling race in the world, the Tour de France, will take place in 2017 in the North Rhine-Westphalian state capital of Düsseldorf. In a fight against the clock, the first stage will lead past Dusseldorf landmarks such as the Rhine, the opera house and the Königsallee.

    Thursday, 29 June: Team presentation of the 2017 Tour de France at the Burgplatz
    Saturday, 1 July: Start of the first stage (Dusseldorf individual time-trial of 13 km (8 mi)
    Sunday, 2 July: Start of the second stage (Dusseldorf > Erkrath > Neander Valley > Mettmann > Dusseldorf)

  • 17. Dusseldorfer France Festival
    7 – 9 July 2017
    Dusseldorf will celebrate the celebrate France’s national holiday in early July. Honoring the neighboring country, the Düsseldorf France Festival will be the largest of its kind in Germany, attracting around 100,000 Francophiles. The “Grande Fête Française” has been held annually since 2001, characterized by culinary delights and colorful cultural programs.


  • „Kirmes“ on the Rhine
    14 – 23 July 2017
    2017 will mark the one hundred sixteenth time that a large fairground city will be built on this picturesque 165,000 sq m (1,776,045 sq ft) of festive meadows on the Oberkasseler Rheinwiesen. Showmen from Germany and abroad will present a range of amusements, guaranteeing fun for the whole family, while an impressive fireworks display will be held on the last Friday (21 July 2017).

  • Gourmet Festival on the Königsallee (King’s Alley)
    25 27 August 2017
    Anything held on Dusseldorf’s glamour mile has to be special: According to its organizer, the Gourmet Festival is Europe’s biggest open-air festival. Friends of high-class gastronomy will get their money’s worth with grilled and roasted delicacies, light finger food, sweet dishes, wine and cocktails. Chefs, manufacturers and food trucks will all present their wares in a white pagoda marquee beside the Kö-canal.


  • China Festival Dusseldorf
    16 September 2017
    During the Chinese Year of the Rooster, the seventh Dusseldorf China Festival will be held under the slogan “The Dragon Dances in Dusseldorf”. Red pagoda tents on the Marktplatz will give visitors the chance to experience a tea ceremony, try their hand at calligraphy or take part in a Chinese language session. There will also be plenty of information on China as a travel destination, along with an insight into traditional Chinese medicine and culinary delights from the Middle Kingdom.
    The stage program at 11:00 AM will present a varied cross-section of Chinese culture, including traditional music, dance, singing and acrobatics. Featured again this year will be acrobats and artists from Dusseldorf’s partner city, Chongqing, who impressed visitors at last year’s event with their artistry and skilled crafts.


  • Dusseldorf festival!
    13 September - 1 October 2017
    Started in 1991 as a private initiative, the Dusseldorf Festival! has developed into a large cultural event with supra-regional importance: Around 25,000 visitors are now attracted to the challenge of partaking in around 60 events within 20 days.


  • Fish market Dusseldorf
    In 2017, the Dusseldorf Fish Market will begin its eighteenth season, with the Tonhalle Dusseldorf on the banks of the Rhine turning into a center for shopping, feasting and enjoyment. On several Sundays in 2017, traders from all over Germany will present their culinary delights. The approximately 90 traders will offer fish, seafood and various other delicacies, as well as flowers and crafts.
